The O'Neill Dance Program is focused on building artistic ownership and discovering creative processes. The O'Neill Dance student will be led through a process to cultivate their individual artistic movement self. In the junior years, students will learn to; explore, experiment and interact with new dance; work collaboratively with each other; manipulate and design movement; and engage with dance histories. In the senior years, students will; begin to hone their individual movement and creative processes; navigate through history and current issues with dance as a medium; use critical analysis, play, research, and inquiry; and work with concepts of performance. Throughout all four years, students will work with professional artists from the Toronto dance community, both in our school studios and in Toronto dance spaces, both in workshop format and to build artistic works. We strive to be as active as possible within both our Oshawa and Toronto arts communities.
