DBEN Hosts 9th Annual And Still We Rise Conference

On March 4th, Durham Black Educator's Network (DBEN) will host the 9th annual And Still We Rise Student Leadership Conference with support from the Durham District School Board (DDSB). The conference, which is geared towards DDSB students who represent the Black Diaspora across the Durham Region, is structured to optimize learning and self-reflection opportunities for participants. Ambassadors and community partners will also lead a range of engaging and informative sessions.

The main message of this year's conference is: Cultivating Courageous Change – The Revisionists' Journey. The keynote speaker is Lincoln Alexander Estridge, a recipient of the Black Community Rise to Excellence award who is dedicated to creating change in the narratives connected to Black youth.
