Special Education Advisory Committee
Under Ontario’s Education Act, every student is entitled to a program which meets his or her needs. In Durham, our Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) helps the Board protect the rights of students with special learning needs. S.E.A.C. provides information, advice and assistance to parents/guardians whose children may require additional support. The Special Education Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives from a number of local parent associations which focus on a variety of exceptionalities and advises and makes recommendations to the Board concerning the establishment and development of special education programs and services.

If you would like assistance from your SEAC representative, please go to the SEAC link located below where you can find representative contact information from various associations.
