Hiring Practices & Procedures
Hiring Process - Teaching
WebWorld.jpgDurham District School Board is in the process of transitioning its postings to ApplyToEducation.  Our current external LTO positions are listed under the Vacancies section of our site.  Candidates interested in applying to our Supply List shouldapply online through www.applytoeducation.com

Specialty Qualifications
While we normally only accept applications for specific posted vacancies, unsolicited applications
* are welcome from persons with formal qualifications in:

    • French
Such applications are accepted at any time and will be maintained in a central data bank. Please submit resume and covering letter online through www.applytoeducation.com

* Note:
Those who submit resumes in this manner must also apply directly to specific vacancies listed on our web site and posting line. The central data bank is accessed only if insufficient applications are received by schools in response to their postings.

Pool Hiring - French
Each year, from January to April, the Durham District School Board interviews limited numbers of teacher candidates with qualifications in French. Interviews are conducted on campus or at the Board office, at which time some applicants are offered teaching contracts for unspecified positions. As part of the process, we work closely with selected candidates to ensure a suitable placement based on their preferences.

Supply Teaching

Effective April 7th, 2015  Durham District School Board will be receiving its employment applications for the teaching supply list online through www.applytoeducation.com

If you have previously submitted your application to DDSB it will be kept for six months after the submission.  After that time you are encouraged to submit an online application.
